About HSP Review
“When you know you are highly sensitive, it reshapes your life, and knowing you have this trait will enable you to make better decisions. Sensitive people live differently in order to be comfortable.” Dr. Elaine Aron
When you figured out you were someone with high sensitivity, did it feel like the penny finally dropped, and now everything just made much more sense?
All those times when the noises around you drove you mad, but everyone else wasn't bothered. Or, how tags on your clothes would make you uncomfortable all day, and for the 100th time, you wondered why they even put them on there?
Now that you can attach a name to all of those personality traits, you can recognize when things set you off, and most of the time, you can avoid situations where you will be uncomfortable.
People say being highly sensitive is a superpower, that it's lovely to be so attuned to the world around you. While this is true, it's also tough to navigate at times. Some days I wish I never had it.
I always found reviews frustrating; when I'm planning a trip or want to purchase clothing, I read the five-star reviews and think, great!
Sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) is a temperamental or personality trait involving “an increased sensitivity of the central nervous system and a deeper cognitive processing of physical, social and emotional stimuli”.
The hotel I book is so loud my sound sensitivity goes into overdrive, and I'm miserable. The clothing I purchased feels horrendous, and I wonder how others like it so much.
So, after much trial and error, I am at a point in my life where I'm making better choices. I hope to help others with sensory processing sensitivity through my reviews that will cover a wide variety of topics.
